Can the material also be collected?
Of course, this option is also available. For this, we also ask for a short telephone arrangement under the telephone number +49 (0) 5905 94541-10. Our employees will gladly provide you with more information on the collection times, etc.

 materials

What are the differences between the various materials (foil, liquid foil, chlorinated rubber and GRP)?
A GRP coating (glass fiber reinforced plastic) offers clear advantages in terms of strength and long-term durability compared to other materials such as films, liquid films or chlorinated rubber.

• Films and liquid films: These materials are flexible and easy to process, but have a low tensile strength of less than 20 N/mm². In addition, some films have to be elaborately welded, which requires additional work steps.
• Chlorinated rubber: Frequently used in paints, chlorinated rubber often contains plasticizers that migrate over time. This can lead to embrittlement, which significantly reduces durability.
• GRP coating: With tensile strengths of the glass fibers of 1800 to 5000 N/mm², GRP is much more robust. In addition, a GRP coating adapts perfectly to different geometries without the need for welding. In the long term, it is much more resistant to wear and weathering

Conclusion: If you are looking for durability and high strength, a GRP coating is a clear advantage.
What structure do we recommend?
For an optimum and durable structure, we recommend our tried-and-tested layer system, consisting of an epoxy primer, the laminate and an optional top layer.

• Step 1: Epoxy primer
First, the epoxy primer HP-E80FS is applied to the substrate. It serves as a moisture barrier and ensures perfect adhesion of the subsequent layers. This primer can be worked on directly “wet-on-wet”.
• Step 2: Laminate structure
In the second step, the laminate is applied. A high-quality glass fiber scrim is used here, which is impregnated in layers with the HP-E30TLS laminating resin. The result is an extremely tensile and permanently water-resistant composite material.
• Step 3: Top layer
Two high-quality options are available for finishing the system, both of which are suitable for permanent exposure to water:
1. epoxy topcoat HP-E30TDS (Topcoat): This solvent-free coating offers excellent protection against osmosis and is extremely resistant to water and chemicals. It is ideal for heavy-duty surfaces that require high durability.
2. polyurethane-based PU topcoat: With brilliant RAL colors and high UV protection, this topcoat ensures individual design and long-term color stability. It also offers strong protection against water, chemicals and osmosis, making it ideal for demanding applications.
Epoxy or polyester resin, which is the better system?
When it comes to durable and resistant coatings, epoxy resin outperforms polyester resin in almost all areas. Although polyester resins are inexpensive, they have considerable disadvantages: the styrene they contain causes a strong odor during application, and the resins must not be used in direct sunlight, which significantly increases the cost of outdoor projects. In contrast, epoxy resins offer clear advantages. They are solvent-free and virtually odorless, which makes them ideal for indoor applications. They also make outdoor processing easier, as they can be used without restrictions even in direct sunlight. Their excellent adhesion is particularly impressive on difficult substrates such as metal or for renovations. Epoxy resins also offer high resistance to water and chemicals as well as excellent osmosis protection, making them the ideal solution for roof, pond and pool coatings.

Conclusion: Compared to polyester resin, the epoxy resin systems from DeinTeich.de offer significantly more advantages for pond and pool construction - from easy processing to exceptional durability. If you value first-class quality and maximum durability, epoxy resin is the right choice.

How does the topcoat react to chlorine and salt water?
Our epoxy resin topcoat shows good resistance to chlorine and salt water and is therefore a suitable choice for applications in swimming pools and similar environments. It has been used successfully for many years as chemical protection for tanks and as an anti-corrosion coating in demanding areas such as offshore. To ensure optimum performance, it is important that the temperature, pH value and salt content remain stable.

The PU topcoat also offers good water and chemical resistance and is suitable for permanent exposure to water, provided that the dosage instructions for the chemicals used for swimming pool hygiene are adhered to. In addition, the PU lacquer ensures high color stability and UV resistance, which makes it particularly attractive for outdoor applications.

 processing

What is the ideal substrate?
The ideal substrate for coating with epoxy resin or PU topcoat must be carefully prepared in order to achieve optimum results. It should be stable, free of loose particles and free of oil and grease. Solid, mineral and slightly porous materials such as masonry, concrete, plaster or screed are particularly suitable. We strongly advise against coating directly on the ground, as this can lead to problems. The care with which the substrate is prepared has a direct influence on the subsequent application. The smoother and more carefully the substrate is prepared, the easier and more resin-saving the subsequent coating will be. Concreted and masonry substrates must dry for at least four to six weeks before they are coated. The exact drying time varies depending on the type of concrete and ambient temperature, but the residual moisture in the concrete should be below 6% to ensure optimum adhesion.
Do you offer instructions for coating?
Yes, of course! You will receive our detailed pool coating instructions with your delivery. You can also view and download the instructions in advance here in the store.
Can I also coat on pond liners?
In principle, this is possible. However, it should be noted that pond liners are usually made of PE, PVC or EPDM and do not form a permanent adhesive bond with the primer. In addition, pond liners often form a lot of folds or at least adhesive edges, so that there is no even surface for coatings. In general, we recommend removing the film completely and replacing it with a stable, mineral substrate (masonry, concrete, plaster, etc.). Only here can the system structure, consisting of primer, laminate and top layer, show all its advantages!
I would like to renovate an old pool. What do I have to consider here? How is the construction carried out?
The exact structure of a refurbishment naturally depends on the current condition and the material on the surface. More and more objects are being refurbished with epoxy resins or PU topcoats to create a coating that is durable in the long term. Whether bubbly liquid film, faulty polyester laminate or simply a color refreshment - a renovation project should always be discussed individually. You are welcome to contact our specialist advisors directly (+49 (0) 5905 94541-10) and we will provide you with an individual offer for your project!

 compatibility

What about compatibility with living creatures, especially delicate fish?
Our system coatings have been successfully used for many years for the coating of ponds, breeding / caging tanks and aquariums. We already act with the necessary care when selecting the raw materials for our products. Thus, ingredients are selected according to the principle: "What is not added to the product cannot be released into the environment!" The raw materials of the systems are only based on ingredients that have been tested for suitability in long-term tests. The systems can therefore be classified as harmless after curing if the processing instructions are complied.
