Why epoxy resins?
Epoxy resins have very good adhesion and load-bearing properties. They are free of solvents and can also be processed in sunlight. Cured epoxy resin laminates are characterized by high water vapor density and are therefore the ideal material for areas subject to continuous water exposure.
Can HP-E30TLS be coloured?
Yes, our colour pastes similar to RAL are very suitable. But coloured epoxy resins do not have particularly good UV resistance, so they may fade under strong sunlight. Alternatively, you can use our PU top coat HP-PUR-PLUS (delivery according to RAL possible), which has particularly good UV protection, for coating.
Can I coat or laminate on Styrofoam / Styrodur?
Since HP-E30TLS does not contain any solvents, you can laminate on Styropor or Styrodur without any problems.
Is it mandatory to apply a top layer to the HP-E30TLS?
No, as long as there are no special requirements for the surface, it is sufficient to use an additional, thick layer of HP-E30TLS as a finishing layer.
How long should I wait before applying the next coat?
Optimally, work should be done wet in wet. This means that all layers are laminated in one step. The next layer should be applied within 24 hours (at approx. 20°C) at the latest. After that an intermediate sanding is necessary.
Is coating safe for my fish?
If our processing instructions are followed, the cured material does not release any substances into the water and is therefore not critical for humans or animals.
Is chlorine pollution or the addition of salt problematic?
If the dosage instructions for the chemicals used for swimming pool hygiene are observed, there is no problem. Should overdosing occur, it can lead to impairments and changes in the surface or color.
