Can the HP-E80FS be applied directly to metal?
Yes, the HP-E80FS also adheres directly to metal if the surface is pretreated accordingly. Pre-treatment: Sand the metal and clean with acetone. Please refer to the data sheet.
Can the HP-E80FS be used for lamination?
Theoretically yes. Fibers can also be impregnated with this system. But basically the HP-E80FS is a primer system and should be used as such.
What residual moisture may the substrate still have?
HP-E80FS can also be used on substrates that still have a residual moisture content of approx. 6%.
The mixed HP-E80FS is relatively viscous, can I still dilute it?
Yes, it can be thinned with up to 10% thinner HP-XB, so that it is easier to paint and it penetrates better into the pores.
Within what time should I apply the finishing coat?
Basically, you should apply as soon as it can be walked on. At approx. 15-20°C this is possible within approx. 12 hours. Within 24 hours (at approx. 20°C) at the latest, the follow-up layer should be applied. After that, an intermediate sanding is necessary.
Why does HP-E80FS smell slightly more than other epoxy systems?
The hardener contains components that cause a slight aminic inherent odor. It is comparable to an ammonia-like inherent odor.
