Why epoxy resins?
Epoxy resins have very good adhesion and load-bearing properties. They are free of solvents and can also be processed under sunlight. Cured epoxy resin laminates are characterized by a high water vapor density and are therefore the ideal material for areas with continuous water exposure.
Can the system be colored?
Yes, our color pastes similar to RAL are very suitable. However, colored epoxy resins do not have particularly good UV resistance, so they can fade under strong sunlight. Alternatively, our PU top coat HP-PUR-PLUS (delivery according to RAL possible), which has particularly good UV protection, can be used for coating.
Is it mandatory to apply a top coat to the laminating resin?
No, as long as there are no special requirements for the surface, it is sufficient to apply an additional, thick layer from the system as a finishing layer.
How long should I wait before applying the next layer?
The best way is to work wet in wet. This means that all layers are laminated in one step. The next layer should be applied within 24 hours (at approx. 20°C) at the latest. After that, an intermediate sanding is necessary.
Can I coat or laminate on Styrofoam / Styrodur?
Since the system does not contain any solvents, you can laminate on Styrofoam or Styrodur without any problems.
Is coating safe for my fish?
If our processing instructions are followed, the cured material does not release any substances into the water and is therefore not critical for humans or animals.
Is chlorine exposure or the addition of salt problematic?
If the dosage instructions for the chemicals used for swimming pool hygiene are observed, there is no problem. Should overdosing occur, it can lead to impairments and changes in the surface or colour.
