Application Notes
1. Substrate Preparation:
The E30RB roller coating can be applied to new and slightly porous substrates. These must be dust-free, rough, sound, clean and dry. Mechanically smoothed or sealed floors should be sanded or sandblasted before coating. Breakouts, damaged areas and imperfections in the substrate should be filled flush with the surface using suitable cement mortars or our epoxy filler
HP-E30S (prime breakouts and defective areas beforehand with
E35GS epoxy resin). Afterwards, our E35GS primer should be applied over the entire surface. The primer acts as an epoxy resin moisture barrier and at the same time as an adhesion promoter between the mineral substrate and the subsequent coating. For optimum penetration into the pores, approx. 10% XB thinner should be added to the E35GS primer system.
2. Application of the coloured roller coating E30RB:
After component B has been added to component A and both components have been mixed thoroughly and intensively, the epoxy resin can be applied to the surface to be coated using a roller or brush. At warmer temperatures, it is recommended to pour the entire bucket onto the surface and spread it with a roller in order to ensure user-friendly working time. We recommend applying E30RB in two coats. On wall surfaces, it is ideal to apply several thin coats. If the floor coating is to be made slip-resistant, it is recommended to scatter fire-dried quartz sand between the first and second coat. Optionally, 0 - 5 parts of thinner (
HP-XB) can also be stirred into the mixed system to improve brushability.
